We are in the process of developing Internet-based software targeted
at the Sponsorship Industry (background: www.sponsorship.com) that we
believe helps realize the full advertising and marketing potential of
event sponsorship.

Without going into too much detail, our patent-pending software
product offers a unique opt-in advertising system that will provide a
greater return on advertising dollars spent by sponsors and, in turn,
enable properties (e.g. conferences, expos, etc.) to make more money
offering sponsorship opportunities.

We are currently looking for seed financing which will be used to
finance product development over a 2.5 month period and to begin our
marketing efforts.

What are your suggestions for seeking funding in this difficult
marketplace?
Do you have any firms, people, or web sites you would recommend that
are specific to our industry or company stage?
Any companies you believe we should consider partnering with?

Please do NOT provide: (1) lists or links to lists of VC/Angel firms,
(2) general funding advice or links to general funding advice, or (3)
other information that is not specific to our industry or company
stage.

Are you loking for people who distribute venture capital for software
development? If so, visit
://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=venture+capital+software+development
to peruse the companies. I hesitate to research and search for the
incorrect type of firm. Further clarification would be helpful for a
researcher.

I wanted to also add that we are located in New York City.

journalist-ga: Yes, I suppose you can see we are looking for venture
capital for software development. However, "software development" is
such as vague term as any web site that offers a specific product
(e.g. Hotmail, Google Answers, etc.) can be considered software.

What kind of clarification do you want? I already explained that it is
Internet-based software product (i.e. web site) targeted at the
Sponsorship Industry designed for advertising purposes.

I wanted to give you an idea of other companies that are also in the
industry (though our products are not really similar):

SponsorClick: www.sponsorclick.com

This is a project that may require quite a bit of a researcher's time
and resources. With all due respect, since this appears to be of
considerable importance to you, you may want to consider raising the
price you've set. A researcher who attempts to answer your question
for $8 may not provide the in-depth attention that this matter
deserves.
