What, exactly, do you mean by a "new food ingredient"?

There are many new food products, but very few actual ingredients that
are introduced in a given year.

A bit more detail would be helpful in understanding what you're after.

food product will work, but I'm specifically interested in those that
are sold to restaurants. These are different from say, new barbeque
sauces that one could buy at a supermarket.

I'm also interested in new varieties or brands of old ingredients -
say a new blended oil that fills a need in the food-service industry.
