My girlfriend tells me that her parents named her for a character in a
Science fiction book named "Callina". For her christmas present I'd
like to obtain a copy of this book (assuming it exists).

She was born in August 1981, so the book would have been printed prior
to that time.

What I'd like to know is the name of a science fiction book with a
character named Callina,and the ISBN of that book.

Are her parents 100% sure that their spelling of "Callina" is the same
as in this book?

The Darkover series of books by Marion Zimmer Bradley is a very famous
landmark series in science fiction -- search Google for [ Darkover ]
if you have any doubts about this.

One of the early Darkover books is Sharra's Exile, published in 1981
(!), includes a character named Callina Lindir-Aillard, described here
as a "former Arilinn Keeper, she is now the attendant of Ashara...":

Callina is listed as an important, but not a main, character in the book.

For what it's worth, "Sharra's Exile" wasn't published until October of 1981.

The book might have been "The Heritage of Hastur" as that came out in 1975.
