I'm delighted to have been able to help! My memory of old movies,
music, and TV shows is so much better than my memory of simple things
like my sister's email address, the name of my representatives in
Congress, and where I put my spare pair of eyeglasses. ;-)
For the record (or for the CD), your song is "Falling Apart at the
Seams," by Marmalade. This song, with many other Marmalade ditties,
may be found in a collection called "The Very Best of the Marmalade":

My search strategy, as usual, started in my rummage-bin of a mind. I
thought I remembered something about rain turning hopes into sand from
a Marmalade song, but I wasn't certain of the name of the song. This
Google search helped me to nail it:
Google Web Search: marmalade "hopes into sand"
