The eating of burnt or overcooked meats has been linked to cancer:

The main reason is that the act of burning the food takes the prana
out of it and the food becomes lifeless .... prana is the subtle life
force in all food or any living thing ... however, this does not mean
that it should not be eaten ... it might just be the poison you need
to knock loose other poisons in your body .. the consciousness of the
eater is the main thing ..
