If the poem is not available on the internet, we cannot post it here,
since it is most likely copyrighted.

Would the name of the poem suffice, along with the name of the printed
work in which it can be found?

Let us know.

Yes,the poems name and identification of the publication where found
would be OK. If you can tell me where I can find the publication it
would be even more helpful. Might the poem be in the public domain by
now?

synod-ga,

I'm only finding references to Gibbs as a prose author...not poetry.
Are you sure the poem you have in mind is by A Hamilton Gibbs?

In the mean time, I thought you might enjoy seeing one (of several)
stories by Gibbs that I came across:

Let me know if you're certain about the poem.

All i could find about Gibbs was prose also but I heard the poem read
on the radio without paying attention to the program. I just picked up
the author's name. It was the first time I had ever heard of him. It
wasn't on Garrison Keillor's daily show where he always concludes with
a poem. I've been through their archive. Thanks for your efforts.

synod-ga,

Well, well, well...making some progress.

Mr. Gibbs did have a book of poetry; as far as I can tell, his only one:

Bluebottles
by A. Hamilton Gibbs

Of course, there's no assurance this has your "June" poem...but it
can't hurt to have a look.

The trick now would be finding a copy. I didn't see it for sale at
Amazon, although it might be available elsewhere...I'll let you know
if anything turns up.

There are a dozen or so college libraries that have the book, all in
New England, oddly enough. It may be available through interlibrary
loan.

Stay tuned....

It looks like you have done it. Unless you can quickly find a source
I'll take it from here. Thanks.

synod-ga,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I've some success...and a minor complication.

Gibb's book of poems, Bluebottles, is, in fact, available from several dealers:

http://dogbert.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?an=gibbs&y=11&tn=bluebottles&x=49

I used to rare-book site, Abebooks, to track it down...several of the
copies available are signed by Gibbs.

However, the above results also show that Gibbs had at least one other
book of poetry:

=====
On World War I by veteran, inscribed] "Bluebottles."
Gibbs, Arthur Hamilton.
Bookseller: David Hecht, Bookseller

Book Description: Boston, 1928., 1928. 46pp. 12mo. 1st edition. Dated
poems on World War I in which author served. Long pen inscrip. by
Gibbs to a fellow soldier, recalling the Hindenburg Line. Old
watersts. throughout but blends in, barely noticeable. Gd. Orig. soft
bds. w/ attached dj. Bookseller Inventory # 7542
=====

A collection of WWI poems seems a bit less likely to have a love poem
on the month of June, but then again...

Still, I hope these are enough leads for you to eventually track down
the elusive poem. Booksellers will often look through books, in
response to a call or email from you, to see if a particular title of
a poem seems to fit what you're seeking.

If you can, let me know how things work out.
