This is for fans of CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) !

I?m looking for software that can be used to compare graphical images
e.g. a signature. Ideally it should be able to do the following:

1.	Side by side comparison with superimposed grid lines and the
ability to zoom, rotate, stretch or scale both images independently
2.	Superimpose one image over another and highlight areas of difference
3.	Vary image contrast, colour balance etc. in order to improve the match
4.	Print reports demonstrating the above suitable for use in court

I?m sure I?ve seen something like this on CSI.

I?m happy to pay for a suitable product so don?t limit your search to free products

I'd like to see at least 3 products identified that meet this
specification so that I can choose the one that is most suitable

Is this the sort of thing you are interested in?

SigAnalyze? software

Please let me know either way. If not, tell me what's wrong with it.
This is not my area of searching expertise because of the complexity
of features, so tell me if I'm going in the right direction before I
proceed in the wrong direction.

Thanks for this - I'm sorry for the delay in replying, but I've been travelling.

I've had a quick look at the Topaz software. It seems to be part of a
biometric ID type solution - i.e. it needs a hardware and software
component. Also, it measures dynamic factors such as pen pressure and
when a pen is lifted from the paper.

What I'm looking for is much simpler. It needs to work with
pre-existing praphical images e.g. JPG files - not specially created
biometric type data files. It needs to have the ability to do side by
side comparisons and superimposition - including rotation, scaling and
stretching. Whilst I gave a signature as an example - it should be
able to compare and highlight differences between any type of
graphical image.

I'd be grateful if you could keep looking for a software only tool that can do this.

All the things that are shown in the TV are not so simple as it looks.
You can scan any text with any handwriting on it and put different
texts on different layers, scale, rotate and manipulate many ways.
Still the final examination is left to an expert of the field.
