Hi, I am shortly to complete a number of psychometric tests. It is my
understanding that statements and arguments in language can be broken
down into a a kind of logical shorthand, so that when given a
statement and asked whether or not it is true, false or "you cannot
say" you can refer to your "flow-diagram" or symbolic shorthand of the
passage you have just analysed and provide a correct response.
I have about a week to perfect a shorthand way of analysing such
pieces of text. Ideally, I want a website, or if possible, a lengthy
email from someone who who can teach me a quick, robust symbolic code
to analyse short passages so that I can quickly compare a series of
statements against it to decide whether they are true, false or unable
to say.

I am a Ph.D. student in the biological sciences, so I feel I can
competently absorb new techniques but my philosophical background is
not particularly strong.

My thanks in advance.

Simon

I think you're asking about truth tables and Johnston Diagrams.

Take a look at this link:

and walk through the full tutorial.

Let me know if that's what you're after.
