Question ID: 597150
what can I do if haven't slept well during the past few years, have some
weird and homo dreams and don't wanna take sleeping pills my whole
life? I may wake up few times along the night (and then catch up new
sleep) almost every night. I'd wholeheartedly appreciate your help.
Thanks.

This is one of the nights I am also awake. It doesn't happen very
often any more. Let me share with you what I've done in the past that
works.
1. Get up early in the morning - I mean really early like 5:00 A.M.
and either go to a gym and exercise or get outside (if the weather
permits) and ride a bike, go for a brisk walk. Get your body moving
and get the oxygen flowing.
2. Eat properly during the day - stay away from caffeine and try a
low or controlled carb diet.
3. Go to bed early - read a book if possible to help you fall asleep.
I find that rising early and exercising gives me a lot more energy
during the day and helps me to fall asleep soundly during the night.
I didn't exercise today or yesterday which is probably why I am awake
at this early morning hour.
