There were two that you could have looked into. However they have merged their portals. Please read the relevant news: MyBau and BuildOnline Merge Their Internet Portals Munich, 22 May 2002 - MyBau AG and BuildOnLine Ltd. will merge their Internet portals designed for the construction industry. This merger is creating a new powerful communication platform that aims to optimize complex construction processes across national borders. Both companies are convinced that this step will put them in a leadership position during the necessary process of consolidating construction portals. The new company has strong financial resources and a particularly in-depth level of industry-specific expertise. BuildOnline, which is based in London, is Europe's most important provider of Internet-based software for the construction industry. The company is financed by capital from renowned international investment banks and venture capital funds. Thank you for your comment, jadayu. I am aware of www.buildonline.com but I am not sure that they are doing much business in France (or Gemany for that matter). I am trying to find out if there are any local competitors... |

The competitors of Buildonlines in Europe are the following: http://www.eu-supply.com/ France counterpart: http://www.eu-supply.com/synapse.asp List of their offices: http://www.eu-supply.com/ouroffices.asp http://www.thebuilding-site.com/ Well I could not get this site on line. http://www.sarcophagus.co.uk ? see their client list. http://www.sarcophagus.co.uk/company_clients.asp I think I have found a document that would give you some interesting information. Just a one page report from sarcophagus site. http://www.sarcophagus.co.uk/pdf%20files/out_of_the_ashes.pdf#search='COMPETITORS%20BUILDONLINE%20survey' Hochtief to standardise on BuildOnline (2) ? it is blog with a lot of information on construction. You should read this. http://paulwilkinson.typepad.com/extranet_evolution/collaboration/ Hope this will be of interest to you. |

Thank you again for your further comment, jadayu. I appreciate you taking the time to post your findings. www.eu-supply.com manages procurement rather than collaboration on documents ala BIW. Buildonline do seem to be competing in Germany, but I am not sure what they have done in France (or elsewhere in the EU) Sarcophagus are only in the UK. The Paul Wilkinson blog is interesting (he is the PR person for BIW), but it is UK and US-centric and doesn't shed any light on who the main competitors are in France or the EU outside of the UK. Maybe there are no local compeitors in France? |
