Quarterback Coaches in Los Angeles ($50). I need a list of
quarterback coaches, with contact information, in Los Angeles County.
I am not looking for camps. I am not looking for fitness programs. I
am not looking for general athletic coaches. I need a coach that
specializes in quarterbacks that I can pay by the hour for regular
training on fundamentals to position my son (a high school freshman)
for Division I College Football. I need a list so I can interview
several.

Any time a customer requests that we compile a list, the first thing
we need to know is: how long a list are you expecting? Obviously,
you'd like as many names as possible. But it would help if you could
give us an idea of how many coaches need to be on the list in order
for you to be a fully satisfied customer. One thing that I think every
Google Answers Researcher appreciates is an idea of how large the task
is, before beginning to search. That way we'll know when we've
completed the task in a way that will be pleasing to you.

A list of 4 to 5 would be excellent. More is appreciated, but I am
perfectly satisfied with 4 to 5. Thank you.

I've gathered information on quarterback coaches in southern
California. Some of these coaches are associated with football camps,
but all are highly regarded as private tutors, as well. This isn't a
long list, since quarterback coaches are not abundant, but I think
you'll agree that quality is more important than quantity, and all
these men have outstanding references and backgrounds.

STEVE CLARKSON

"[Steve] Clarkson, perhaps the most accomplished of a new breed of
private athletic coaches, tutors athletes from junior high onward.
Often they stick with him even after they've won college scholarships;
they come back to consult during vacations.

Clarkson is not alone. Individualized instruction for athletes, once
limited to individual sports such as tennis, has become a national
phenomenon in team sports, too, particularly for basketball, baseball
and soccer players.

Jim Clausen is a believer. He has seen Clarkson turn two of his sons
into major-college quarterbacks. Though Clarkson is called a coach or
guru, Clausen gives him another title. 'He's a dream-maker,' says
Clausen, an insurance executive in Granada Hills, Calif., whose two
older sons are Division I-A quarterbacks."

CHRIS SAILER

"Former UCLA All-America kicker Chris Sailer, who works with kickers
in the Orange County and Los Angeles area, also is swamped.

'I have more lessons than I have time,' he said. 'I'm turning down kids.'

The reputations of private coaches like Sailer and quarterbacks coach
Steve Calhoun, a former standout in European professional leagues, are
well known way beyond the Orange Curtain...

Few private coaches have as much influence on players getting Division
I scholarships as Sailer. With limited time and resources to scout
high school kickers in person, college coaches are increasingly basing
scholarship offers on evaluations by Sailer. Sailer estimates he has
evaluated 65 kickers currently playing in NCAA Division I."
