I have a large painting of Chrysanthemums that is signed by Gustave
Wiegand in right-hand lower corner and I would like to know how I can
determine if it is an original or not.  Should I try to find a dealer?
 Should I try to value it myself?

There is a list of resources about Gustave Wiegand on ArtCyclopedia
(link is below)-- sources to go to to look at current market prices of
his paintings, for example. He was a German born American painter,
1870--mid 20th century.
