Where (and how) do I get a domain name that ends in .np (nepal). I
have a partner there, so I have his contact info, but I couldn't
figure out the process. I have done many .com ones via network
solutions and www.directnic.com.

also, where do I go to register a .US domain?

Hi there,

Information on registering a .np domain name can be found at
Mercantile Communications (http://www.mos.com.np/) which is the domain
name registrar for Nepal. Their registration page
(http://www.mos.com.np/register.html) provides a list of information
and requrirements for registering a .np name. You can then register
your name right from there.

Note that you need to have a registered company in Nepal, or be a
Nepalese citizen to register a .np domain name.

As for registering a .us domain name, you have many options. The list
of .US registrars can be found at
http://www.nic.us/register/dotus_registrars.html and includes the site
you listed above, http://www.directnic.com. I've checked out a few of
the registrars listed and found prices that ranged from a low of $6.49
to $35.00 a year, so you may want to look around a bit to find the
best deal. As well, you must be a citizen of the US or an incorporated
company to purchase a .us name.

Hope that's what your looking for! If you need any clarification,
please feel free to ask.
