The brake lights on my 87 VW Vanagon don't turn on until I press the
brake pedal all the way to the floor. I guess the switch needs to be
replaced. I removed the plastic shroud from the steering column, and
I popped off the plastic cover over the brake fluid reservoir - but I
couldn't see/find the switch.

I would like to know where that switch is buried, how to get to it
(step-by-step), and how to replace it (any little tricks I need to
know about?). Do I need any special tools? Illutrations of where the
switch is and how to get to it would be very helpful.
