I am interested in the opportunities in China for work in the
composites field. My background and experience are in thermoset resin
systems (polyester, vinylester, epoxy, urethane, etc...) and e-glass,
s-glass, carbon fiber, and aramid re-enforcements. Processes include
open lay-up, vacuum bagging, SCRIMP, VARTM, compression molding, and
combinations ofthe previously mentioned.
I have almost twenty years experience building products from 150' wind
turbine blades, boats, airport people movers, prototype auto and
motorcycle parts, amusement park rides, sculpture /art pieces, ... you
get the idea. My participation has ranged from supervising teams from
5 to 75 people, to engineering and project management, to new product
and facility start-up.
I have a good deal of experience starting new composite manufacturing
facilities and product lines, equipment and materials requirements,
and continuous improvement programs (5S, 6 sigma, TQM, ISO 9000,
etc...). Most recently a 400,000sf wind turbine blade facility in
Juarez Mexico.
What kind of composites activity similar to the above listed is there.
I see plenty of raw material and finished product coming from China.
How would I get in contact with American(or other)companies looking to
start product
lines in China, or Chineese companies trying to staff up with
experienced help? Results are plentiful until I plug in the word
"composites". Is there a good place to find this information on the
web, in print, anywhere? Are there companies actively seeking this
type of skill but I'm looking in the wrong place?
