I am looking for information on how large the art market is.  How much
is spent yearly on high end art and then how much is spent at the
lower end (print, posters, etc.)

I do not think that there is an answer for this question. Much of what
goes on in the art market is not reported, and also, you would need to
clarify where the art market begins and ends? What qualifies as "art"?

there is also a project at columbia university that looks specifically
at the socialogy of the art world. You can find it if you search the
CU website.
