Looking for online photo of an old KEITH HARING GREETING CARD OR
PICTURE. Grafitti artist KEITH HARING drew many "TV Man" pictures. I
am specifically looking for the one of a man's arm (big bicep!)
holding a TV set. I saw it as a greetng card in the 1990's and sent
them all out. Now I need to research the picture and do not have it.
Can you find it for me? |

Any chance this is it:
http://www.haring.com/archives/press/artforum/catalog6.html
It doesn't quite match your description, but having gone through
Haring's (rather extensive and wonderful) body of work, I don't see
anything that hit the nail on the head.
If the above isn't is, give us a bit more detail to go on -- Drawing
or painting? What colors? Describe the image a bit more. Any
additional details will help.
Thanks,

thatks so much for looking into this. unfortunately we still havnee't
found the exact one -- although you guys are gettign close! the
drawing had no colors in it. i belive it was a dark blue outline
again a white backdrop. the tv is pretty prominently featured, as is
the man's arm holding the tv set. it was used as a greeting card
which was sold in manhattan sometime around 1993, 94 95. damned if i
know the name of the greeting card company, and the card shop i about
it in is now some big chain store. does that help any? keep
trying!!!

lauren327-ga,
Keith Haring's art is so recognizable that it's hard to imagine you
might be confusing an image with someone else's work...but I really
don't see anything matching your description. Are you quite sure it's
Haring's picture?
Here's one with a big bicep (and another appendage or two), no TV, though:
http://www.haring.com/cgi-bin/art_lrg.cgi?date=1985&genre=Painting&start=20&id=00328
Ring any bells?
Also...is the picture you have in mind just an arm and TV? Are there
any other visual elements you can recall? You say the arm is
"holding" the TV....How? Is the TV perched on the arm (in the nook)?
If not, how are the images arranged?
Any other info would help, here.

your intrepId searching in heartwarming. but yes, it truly is a
haring. the tv set is sort of sitting on the bicep of the arm. i
recall lots of those 'excitement lines" emanating form the tv set.
and yes it was definitely a blank greeting card (an authorized one, i
shoudl think as it was for sale in a big legitiamte card store when i
bought at least a dozen of them in the 1990's). this really means a
lot to me so thanks for pursuing this!
