Yes it is possible, as I only transcribed it while shopping.  It was
sung by a female artist.  Fairly mellow voice, not raunchy

...or might it be "what did i do, what did i say, to turn your angel eyes my way"

if so, it's Angel Eyes by the Jeff Healy Band.

That suggestion was made to me, but it was sung by a woman and I note
the Jeff Healy Band is all male.  Is it possible they had a woman sing
it?

Maybe look for "Why Did You Go?" by Ginuwine.  I haven't heard the
song, so I don't know if there are female vocals or not.

The lyrics go:
Why did you go, why did you leave
why did you take your love from me
What did I do, what did I say
why did you take your love away

Thank you giggal and jay314.  Now I am uncertain of whether it was a
male voice if it was your lyrics jay. I had a look under google and it
appears to be a male singing them about a woman and I thought it was a
woman singing about a man - so I am confused!
