I want to get a list of all Franchise Shows (or Franchise Conventions
where franchise companies, like 7-11, Subway, vending machines, etc.
exhibit their business opportunities to potential franchisees) for the
next 12 months. I've been told there is about one every weekend
somewhere in the country. I'd like to get the name, date, location of
40-50 different franchise shows that take place over the next year.

I'm afraid you might misunderstand how these promotional shows work. I
have never heard of a show in which one franchise was featured (i.e.
your request for 40-50 DIFFERENT franchises). You see, the same
franchises that are shown at one show are often the same ones that are
shown at the next show down the road. In other words, there are
infomercial types with many franchises whose responsiblity it is to
make the promotion circuit. They travel constantly from one show to
the next in much the same way that fairs, races or rodeos are held,
often seeing familiar faces of other franchise promotion staff at
other venues.
They are all essentially "on tour" when they are offering business
opportunities or turn-key startups and their paths often cross. This
is especially true with the major events (hosted by the popular
promotion companies) and the annual or regional events (typically
large and play host to dozens, if not hundreds of franchises in a
single show). With that in mind, you won't find a "7-11 Show", rather
what you will find is [fictional] The North Dallas Franchise Show"
where a multitude of wares and business are displayed and offered to
the public and to investors.

I managed to find several lists of pending shows but they are not all
in the US. For example, one list I found has about 45 scheduled shows
and around half of them are US shows. In addition, many of them are
listed by a promotion company's name, or an annually or regionally
name event (that has come to be known my a particular name); for
example a promotion company may name the show after itself such as
"ABC Promotion Show" (where ABC is the name of the promotion company.
Or one annual or regional event might simply be known as "The
Southwest Franchise Show" and in either case whatever business
opportunities, hardware, technology or equipment that is shown at that
particular event in a given season year is arranged by the promotion
company or the otherwise hosting entity. As you know, franchise shows
sometimes play host to hundreds of booths from hundreds of companies
so while one show may have foodstuffs and tools it may also have
vending machines, convenience stores and eateries.

That said, would you be willing to accept a list of scheduled shows that
(a) are hosted by an organizing entity or promoted as an
annual/regional show name but does not indicate what, specifically,
will be at each show, and/or....
(b)includes shows scheduled outisde the US?

Without one or both of these I'm afraid your original request might
just be too strictly specific to reasonably fulfill in numbers of
40-50 different franchises. If you are agreeable perhaps you can
restate your question here in the clarification area to modify your
requirements thus making your question more likley to be answered. How
does that sound?

I did not word properly, you are right.

I'm not looking for shows hosted by specific franchises, but rather
shows and/or expos featuring different franchise companies and
business opportunities

So I would be willing to accept option a) you described, assuming they
are all in the US....thanks for the reply

Furthermore, this convenient link leads to contact information to
literally hundreds of specific brands that are currently promoting
their franchises. By contacting the brand of your choice at the number
provided and speaking to a franchising representative you can obtain
more information about when and where to see their products and
demonstrations. This may actually save you some time and travel by
allowing you to visit only those expos where subjects of interest are
presented.

In addition, I highly recommend that you can contact these most
notable major expo event sponsors and obtain more information about
their upcoming events. While some of them are located outside the US,
this of course does not preclude them from having holding franchise
expos in the United States, and some of them occasionally may. It goes
without saying, naturally, that the domestic sponsors are probably
more likely to have larger US schedules. It is important to keep in
mind that the 2006 franchise expo schedules are only in their infancy
and many more dates may be in the works or be forthcoming. It may be
wise to request an ongoing correspondence with these sponsors if
possible so they can update you to their revised schedules via email,
newsletter, etc, depending on how they approach this issue and what is
most convenient for you:

Here are some miscellaneous conventions I found after the fact. Some
of them may be of no interest to you and others may have already comes
and gone, but frankly there were so many that it was impossible to
choose which ones were relative and which were not, so I am just
offering them all to you for consideration:
