I'm looking for credible statistics on the Muslim population post
2000. Specifically, world muslim population, percentage of muslim
population growth compared with World population growth, percentage of
muslim population that are women and any statistics on muslim convert
population. I've found some statistics on population and population
growth from (http://muslim-canada.org/muslimstats.html) but I have
been unable to find numbers of people converting to Islam, the
percentage of those converting that are women, and whether those
numbers have increased or decreased since 9.11.

Five years is too short an interval to obtain reliable figures on such
a complex matter. Any population statistics of this sort would
normally be gathered from national censuses, which are generally held
only every 10 years or so - or not at all in many countries. In
particular, for stats on conversions to (and from?) religions, you
would almost certainly be reliant on religious organisations (like the
website you cite), which might well have agendas of their own.

The most comprehensive site I know that publishes statitistics of all
religions and some comparative numbers as well is
http://www.adherents.com/index.html There is a lot of information,
here, but as the previous commentor stated, most of it won't be within
the past 5 years, simply because it hasn't been published or collected
as yet.

Today, Islam is the second-largest religion on earth. According to
various sources, just over a fifth of the world's population is
Muslim. Only Christianity is larger, comprising 33 percent of the
population. But Islam is by far the fastest-growing religion on the
planet, with a growth rate estimated at 2.8%-2.9% per year.
