Hello Gamehunter,
Unfortunately your customers, John McQueen and Adam Northrup were
killed yesterday August 28th when the plane piloted by John McQueen
crashed in Croton Pond.
I located the note in the Grand Rapids Skyview Traffic Local Morning
Summary prepared and written by Carole Fletcher and Kevin Richards
dated Thursday, August 29, 2002.
Three die when plane crashes into Croton Pond. Witnesses said power
lines catch the tail of the light plane as it flew low over the
Muskegon River between Croton and Hardy dams around 7 p.m. yesterday.
The rear part of the plane appeared to disintegrate, and the aircraft
sank immediately into 20 feet of water. Divers retrieved bodies of
three men through murky water, which hindered recovery. They are
believed to be pilot John McQueen of Portage, and passengers Adam
Northup (age 25) of Schoolcraft, and Michael Mantlo of Tennessee.
Northup ran a family-owned plastic mold die-making company, and
McQueen was their sales and engineering chief. They were returning to
Three Rivers Airport after a business trip to Traverse City.
