I would like to know where I can find out more about the marriage of
Gregory Baum, Theologian and former priest (Jewish Holocaust survivor
who became a Roman Catholic Priest and was active in Vatican II) to a
divorcee that led to his excommunication and that of the priest that
married them.  I know that his wife was a former nun who left her
order (Loretto).  I can't find anything else out about her - name, the
name of the first man she married (she was already divorced once when
she married Baum). I would be particularly interested in a reference
source that would provide me with more information.

Hi,
I can give you the first and last name of Baum's wife and the year the
couple married (as well as a citation for the source).  However, I
don't have the name of her first husband.  Let me know if you'd accept
the information that I do have.

I believe he was married in 1976.  The name and source will be
sufficient, as long as the name is not a religious name (for example,
nuns during that time period gave up their given names - and I believe
he married a former nun)

The woman's name was Shirley Flynn.

From The Gazette (Montreal) newspaper, October 31, 1987:

'After Pocock denounced Baum's liberal opinions as "contrary to
official Catholic doctrine," Baum resigned from the priesthood. In
1977 he married Shirley Flynn, a former nun.'

One additional detail:  Shirley's father was killed by mustard gas
while fighting on the British/Canadian side in World War I.  This is
mentioned on page 26 of this document:

"The same mustard gas killed Baum's wife Shirley's father who fought
