A parable about the flaws of income redistribution plans has been
making its way around cyberspace for the last few years, but I'm
unable to find it. It's a series of examples of why it's allegedly
foolish and unfair to share one's gains, whether monetary or other.
Example: You get an "A" in school, but your friend gets a "D." Should
you share your "A" such that both you and your friend can have a "C+"?

Pink, that's one version and it's a good one, but there's also a
longer version that includes farm animals. LOL

Sorry, I couldn't find your longer version.

This is the only similar thing I could find which includes farm animals:

Hope someone else can turn up your parable. I enjoy this kind of thing!

Okey-dokey, here's my ***FINAL ANSWER*** (subject to future amendments
if something more ***FINAL*** comes along)!

The "grade redistribution" email that I received a few months ago was
pretty much like this one:

Sharp Joke: A Father Daughter Talk
http://www.sharpjokes.com/?q=node/view/307

And here's the venerable "two cows" thingie about economic systems:

Garrick's Palace of Stuff: World Ideologies as Explained by Reference to COWS
http://pages.infinit.net/garrick/jokes/cows.html

A thorough (possibly excessive) discussion of the "cows" tale:

Wikipedia: You have two cows
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_have_two_cows

As long as we're doing barnyard humor, I also found a retelling of
"The Little Red Hen" that you may find amusing:

Right Wing News: Reagan's Red Hen
http://www.rightwingnews.com/category.php?ent=2173

And let's not forget the ultimate in farm animal parables:

The Literature Network: Animal Farm
http://www.online-literature.com/orwell/animalfarm

My Google search strategy:

Google Web Search: "conservative OR republican OR economic parable"

Best always,
