The now defunct New York Renaissance Band was known as the NYRB. This
group, a favorite of President Reagan, performed at the White House in
the early '80s. The NYRB was a genre-transcending band that could
combine elements of classical, rock, and jazz, in a manner similar to
Jethro Tull or the Kronos Quartet. The term "dance music" takes on a
whole new slant when you listen to the NYRB album "Country Capers:
English Country Dance." This delightful collection proves that the
lively rhythms of our ancestors are just as danceable today as they
were 350 years ago.

I hope this is the band you are looking for. It is the only musical
group I am aware of that is known as NYRB. If, as justaskscott-ga
suggests, you are actually looking for the band NRBQ, please request a
clarification, and I will gather information about that band for you.
