I recall reading reports from IDC and Gartner Dataquest concerning
Oracle's market share and license revenue last year. When dealing
with market share some consider the market to be new licenses sold
during the year plus ongoing license fees charged to customers for
existing licenses and others only count new license revenues. I recall
reading that Oracle had roughly 40% of market share of the relational
data base management systems in 2004. I do not know the current
numbers with Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 2 data but imagine
there would be an analyst report currently available with the numbers
you seek. I will post the numbers if I should run across them.
