Before I get to the funny stuff, I have a minor warning to issue: many
sites where wav files may be found have an annoying number of pop-up
ads. If you have a pop-up preventer installed on your computer, you
may want to activate it. If not, just click to close the ads. (I have
not posted links to the sites which use unclosable pop-ups, an
advertising technique which I despise.)
Here's a selection of fun and wacky sound clips that can turn your
Nokia into a high-tech laff riot:
WavCentral calls itself "the best sound site on the 'Net," and for
good reason. Their database of sound files is large and well
organized. They offer a huge array of clips from movies and TV shows,
both current and retro. As with most such sites, some of the sound
clips are off-color and vulgar (in a "Simpsons" and "South Park" kind
of way,) but there are hundreds to choose from. My faves here: Cartman
(of "South Park") barking "Respect my authoritayyy" and Bruce
Campbell, from Army of Darkness, sneering "Well, hello, Mister
Fancy-Pants!" Another funny one is from "Demolition Man," in which a
snooty computer voice says "You are fined one credit for violation of
the verbal morality standard!"

Allwavs.com has a large selection of short wav files. My favorite wavs
from this site: Dan Aykroyd, of the Blues Brothers, saying "We're on a
mission from God" and Tweety Bird from Looney Tunes saying "Baaaaad
old puddy tat!"

MLTD has a nice collection, with lots of good George Carlin clips.
Non-Carlin wavs that I liked a lot: The Three Stooges doing a
three-part harmony singing "Hello, hello, helloooo" and Sir Alec
Guinness, as Obi-Wan Kenobi, saying (in reference to Darth Vader)
"He's more machine now than man; twisted and evil." That would be a
great one to use for voicemail! And here you will find the classic
Monty Python "Spam" bit with "Spam, Spam, bacon, Spam, egg and Spam."
That would be a good one to use on telemarketers.
