Hello.

This story appears to have first been reported by the Christian
Science Monitor on July 26, 2002.

"US ships Al Qaeda suspects to Arab states:
Egypt, Syria, and Jordan may extract information faster, but are their
methods legal and reliable?"
By Faye Bowers and Philip Smucker
http://www.csmonitor.com/2002/0726/p01s03-usju.html

I also checked the New York Times archive, but the Times does not seem
to have a comprehensive article on this subject.

search strategy: terrorism, al qaeda, suspects, interrrogation,
torture

I hope this helps.
