Morning 4win, I just wanted to clarify that sentences can have different meanings. From the word list you have provided, it could be you are going to have a exchange student stay with you. The sentence "Would would love for your to join our family" which Haimoto-ga translated has more of the meaning "to enter/become a member of our family" as opposed to the meaning "join us for dinner" or "join us on a vacation". Also, there are two systems of writing Chinese characters. The characters on about.com seem to be the traditional characters, while the ones Haimoto-ga provided are simplified characters used in the People's Republic of China. |

Actually, the characters shown on the About.com website are exactly the same ones that the comment provides. Granted, more stylistic, but still the same characters. The About.com site and the commenter provides the phonetic "ma ma" for Mama and "ba ba" for Papa, etc. Not only that, the About.com pages give the Pinyin equivalents of the characters, so you can use a Pinyin look-up tool to derive characters, if desired. The Mandarin Tools website has a usable look-up tool. http://www.mandarintools.com/chardict.html "Chinese Character Dictionary" Looking Forward, denco-ga - Google Answers Researcher |

Please try going to "View" in IE menu, and select "Encoding" and then "Unicode" or "Chinese Simplified". |
