will vb.net lead me to more maintainable database compare with java?

there is no diffrent between using database in VB.NET and JAVA

the reasons:
 you can find out that both of 'em use a library called ADODB to
connect to a database or a sql server ..
so u just control the database by your SQL statments not by your
programming language .
