Hi,

I have a very simple question, I'm looking to start a company and want
to incorporate via one the online incorporating agencies that offer
their services for a fee. To start a LLC or a Corporation do you need
to have a business address? Or can you form a corporation with your
home address? Do you need to provide an address at all? If I provide
my home address does that information become public or can my home
address be used against lawsuits against me. I don't want to go get an
office/warehouse for my business because I do not have enough funds
for this yet, so what other ways are there to get a business address
without the hassles of a lease. Are the virtual offices that are
listed out there suitable e.g (www.regus.com) what are the pro's &
con's of these so called virtual offices. I realize this is a lot of
information, if you need me to clarify anything just ask. Thanks.

Having just done this.. Yes you need to have an address. You can use
your home address but it will be a target for companies that look for
new corporations to send unsolicited junk mail - selling office
supplies etc. Unless you are planning on doing something that is
illegal, you need not worry about listing your home address. If you
are concerned about this I believe you can have the company that files
your corporation documentation act as your agent; their addresss will
be listed for all legal correspondence. A PO box (rented from mailbox
etc or?) can also be listed as the corp address. Good luck!
