I AM SEARCHING EVERYWHERE FOR THE MUSIC SOUNDTRACK TO THE 1980'S MOTION PICTURE "TENDER MERCIES". I CAN FIND THE DVD, BUT NOT THE CD. I WOULD ACCEPT A CASSETTE OR CD, BUT NOT AN LP. |

It's great to get these responses, however, except for pinkfrued-ga I am unable to access them. His was the only one with a link I could follow. I got several promising sounding answers from bowler-ga, but can't access the place to get the answer. It says (this is a cached website) I don't know what that is, but maybe I have to do something to get to it that I don't know about. Anyway, if I could I would! Thanks to all who are trying to help me! spacecowgirl-ga |

To access any of the sites I listed you'll need to copy and paste the address into the address bar or type the address exactly as it is listed. |

Let me clarify one thing. The moral to my earlier coment is that irrespective of format (LP, CD, Cassette). When it comes to this soundtrack folks will advertise that they have it but in reality do not. |

Two of the links (posted by others) point to "Missquality" as seller. 1 Missquality is offering a "plain" cd for $46.85. The other Missquality is offering a combo cd-LP set for $685.98 (gasp!) The National Film and Sound Archive (in Australia) "collects, preserves and provides access to Australia's historic and contemporary moving image and recorded sound culture". It is possible to get a specially ordered copy on CD from them but ... (there is always a but) ... you must have a very good reason eg "Copying services are prioritised for the film, television and recorded sound production sectors and a variety of scholarly and educational interests." I stand corrected but I thought the soundtrack was only available on LP or cassette - were cds available in 1982? Well ... I have just opted for a LP - after trying to get a copy of the soundtrack for over 20 years. BTW - Betty Buckley's 15th (?) anniversary CD has her singing Over You - she played Mac's country star 1st wife. I think she kept the copyright so her version was not on the soundtrack. Since the movie is available on DVD, perhaps the copyright owners will make the soundtrack available on cd (again?) ... if only they could be persuaded. I'd be the first to buy it! Good luck in your search. |

Hi there, The version that I have (on CDR) has "Over You" on it. Mine was recorded from an original Liberty Records 1982 U.S. vinyl LP, so this track WAS on the original pressing - in the U.S. at least. The full track list is as follows :- 1. Off On Wednesday ---------------------- Charlie Craig & Sherry Grooms 2. If You'll Hold The Ladder ------------- Robert Duvall 3. It Hurts To Face Reality -------------- Robert Duball 4. Makin' Love And Makin' Out ------------ Charlie Craig 5. Overnight Sensations ------------------ Craig Bickhardt 6. Midnight Tennessee Woman -------------- Charlie Craig 7. Over You ------------------------------ Lane Brody 8. I've Decided To Leave Here Forever ---- Robert Duvall 9. Wings Of A Dove ----------------------- Robert Duvall & Gail Youngs 10. You Are What Love Means To Me --------- Craig Bickhardt It is a truly great movie and soundtrack, and is one of my favourites too. Hoping this clarifies the original tracklisting. |
