I have put the shortcut that I made from networking connection in the startup
groups, but when I start my computer, it will bring up a box that you have to
click "dial" to go t the internet, I want to straight to the internet without
doing anything.
Do you have to use a program like outlook express and drag it into the
startup group? because outlook express do have a box to connect auto.

Let get down to the bottom of what I want and what I have already done.
I did get the outlook express to bring up a box and you can put a check mark
in auto connection, it will dial auto when you put outlook express in the
start-up group, if you ever cancel out outlook express before going to
the internet, the check mark will come out byself, how can you get the
check mark
to stay in the auto connection box if even you cancel out outlook from going
to the internet for some reason?.

If I us the connection that I from networking and put it in the startup group
it will not have a box to check for auto connection.

I would like to use my connection, that I made with the networking to use in the
startup group if I can get this to work.

Please reply back with a good way to do this small task.

Thanks,

There are two ways -

1. Create a shortcut to the Dial Up Netwrking (DUN) Connection and
place it in your startup folder. This will pop up the DUN screen and
you can make changes to the number if required and click DIAL. To make
a shortcut, Right-click your connection and choose CREATE SHORTCUT. A
message box will pop up asking if you'd like the shortcut placed on
the Desktop. Say YES. Drag this shortcut into your startup folder.

2. Make a batch file, put it in the STARTUP folder.

The batch file will make use of the RASDIAL.exe applet whose usage is shown below

 RASDIAL.EXE entryname [ username [ password ¦ * ]] [
/DOMAIN:domain ] [ /PHONE:phonenumber ] [ /CALLBACK:callbacknumber ] [
/PHONEBOOK:phonebookfile ] [ /PREFIXSUFFIX ]

To disconnect use RASDIAL.EXE [ entryname ] /DISCONNECT
