Because I have a really small ears, I would like to find replaceable,
adaptable earbuds that go inside my ear canal, instead of just
resting in front of it. The headphones to my IPod (and cell phone, for
that matter) will not stay in my ears. I would like, if possilble to
adapt my headpones so they fit snugly, rather than buying new.

Hello dianemarie-ga

Thank-you for your question.

If you wish to stay with your present earphones there are two
possibilities you can choose from, either an attachment or a mould to
make them stay in your ears easier.

Griffin Technology make an attachment called "Ear Jams" that click
onto your current iPod earphones and change them into "ear canal"-type
earphones.

"Griffin EarJams
Snap on Griffin EarJams to enhance the sound & comfort of your iPod Earbuds.

EarJams snap onto your existing iPod Earbuds and:
? Deliver massive bass and improved sound
? Enhance the comfort and fit of your iPod earbuds
? Raises your earbud volume by up to 10 decibels
? Includes multiple size ear pads and carrying case"

The other solution is to get specially moulded attachments for your
ears, these generally cost upwards of hundreds of dollars but a new
company has started selling a kit to make-your-own recently. I can
supply you with some links to the more expensive ear kits but judging
from your question you are probably looking for a cheap (less than
$100) solution.

"PodFitKit consists of a unique, moldable silicon material that, when
fitted properly, becomes integrated with the iPod's earbuds. You get a
totally customized earpiece that is quite similar to molded hearing
protection, hearing aid fitting material and prosthetic inserts that
cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. Your iPod earbuds suddenly fit!
And not only do they fit, they're actually comfortable, and they stay
put!"

Should you have any further questions on this subject please do not
hesitate to ask for clarification and I will do my best to respond
swiftly.

This is a follow up question.

I also have small ears, and my earbuds (for a MP3 player that is not
an iPod) hurt my ears. I don't really want the expense of molding the
attachments. And, if this is my only option, it isn't clear whether I
could use these kits with non-iPod earbuds.

Are there earbuds that are just made for small ears, for children, for instance?

Thanks.
