Hi gunny...
America's 200 Largest Yachts
58. MI GAEA
158'3" 1990 "Mi Gaea" means Mother Earth, or
mother of the Titans in Greek mythology. The
owner and his family have cruised extensively
onboard over the past year, traveling from Nova
Scotia to Honduras and Belize. B: Feadship/De
Vries Scheepsbouw, Holland; N: H.W. De Voogt &
Zoon; H: Steel; E: 2/900-hp Caterpillars
For a megayacht, she sure is camera shy.

I'm wondering if this is true:

Once in a Blue Moon
Built by Feadship's Van Lent yard in the
Netherlands, the full displacement motoryacht
Blue Moon was commissioned by an experienced
yachtsman keen to explore the Bahamian shallows
in Feadship style. At 50.28m (165 foot), she is
the largest aluminum Feadship to date, and the
world's first all-aluminum yacht over 500 gross
tons to be granted full MCA accreditation.
The owner of Blue Moon first discovered life
onboard a Feadship a decade ago when he
chartered September Blue. Inspired by this
experience, he purchased the 1990-launched Mi
Gaea and renamed her Blue Moon. Although
exceptionally happy with this 47.30m (155' 2")
Feadship, her full displacement steel hull and
2.94m (9' 8") draft meant that she was not
entirely suitable for extensive cruising in
Caribbean areas, especially the Bahamas. The
main reason therefore for ordering a new Blue
Moon was to have the shallow draft offered by an
aluminum hull and superstructure.
This is from Feadship, the new Blue Moon:

Former name Blue Moon C, New Name Mi Gaea
I'm confused
Intriguing, no?
I think the only other good source of
images for the "Mi Gaea" would be some
of the yacht publications, or other
'highlife' magazines. Those images
don't appear to be freely available.
There might be a copyright on the use
of its likeness, that would explain
the few images. It could also be that
the owner is not interested in having
it publicly flaunted.
