Innocentive.com is a service the caters to the needs of large,
industrial and Pharma companies which need to access the skills of
chemists and others for solving, for instance, difficult chemical
synthesis issues. They appear not to cater to smaller entities with
less valuable issues which need to be solved. My question is, are there
other companies that provide a similar service to Innocentive, but
cater to smaller entities and projects? An answer stating the Google
Answers is an alternative is not acceptable. A good answer would
provide some amount of detail as to what these services are about.

Dear pinkfreud-ga

Thank you for the comments. I did a little research to see if they
better cater to the needs of smaller clients. YourEncore is similar to
Innocentive in some ways. There is a large up front fee of $10,000 to
join, and then you pay a consulting fee of about $135 - 165/hour with
no assurance they will actually solve your problem. It appears to be
a very good service, but targeted at larger entities with lots of
money. Scienture looks to be similar to Google Answers but for higher
level problems/answers. This might be an OK answer, I am not too
sure. More information would help here. NineSigma is a fee for
service company, but they do not have lot of details
on their website. This may or may not be an answer. If you can fill
in some details here, I am sure I would accept your answer.

I have no access to details about these companies other than their
websites. I hope another Researcher will be able to help you find what
you need.

I will try to figure out more details. If they are useful, I will
post a comment to that effect and you can then answer it to collect
your reward. In the meantime, the question is still open if anyone
knows of something that more certainly answers the question.
Answer
There is no answer at this time.

Is it just chemical synthesis you are interested in? You can checkout
www.bayworth.com as they offer a wide range of material related
services and small R&D projects.
