By your question I am guessing that you can no longer see the Address
Bar, where the URL (www.google.ca) would show up, for instance.

Comment one:
Use Firefox: <a href="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/iclk?sa=l&num=0&adurl=http://services.google.com/toolbar/firefox%3Fai%3DBRJ3Y1j6WQ-TcDbmILtH4mdgL44CgDdHkmc4BxY23AQAQASDfk8QDQMwQSKI5UIPj0QKgAbWVyP0DyAECgAIBlQIKC1EZ&ai=Bxr0w1j6WQ-TcDbmILtH4mdgL44CgDdHkmc4BxY23AQAQASDfk8QDQMwQSKI5UM2y4zCgAbWVyP0DyAECgAIBlQIKC1EZ">click
here to download</a>

Comment two:
Click View and select Toolbars - is Address Bar showing?

Comment three:
if you think this has happened since you had your DSL installed, it's
possible that the cause was the DSL installation. Try calling your
provider (Verizon DSL) for support on this, they should have a toll
free customer support number, and since this problem may be related to
the installation of your VERIZON, and related to use of the service,
it should be technical support that they provide for you.

Press F11
you will get back the browser bar.
F11 toggles between fullscreen and normal mode.

If you dont want to use about:blank

Click on "Tools" -> Click on "Internet options"
on the Address column there will be three buttons
Use Current -> This will make the current page as your home page.
Use Default -> This will make default page(msn.com) as your home page.
Use Blank -> This will make about:blank( Blank apge as your home page).

Also if you want all the tool bars to be visible all the time.
Follow these steps.
Click on "View" -> click on "Toolbars"
Make sure that "Standard Buttons" , " Address Bar", " Lock the
Toolbar" are all checked.

verison DSL most probably make verizon as your home page.

It sounds to me like your computer is infected with spyware. Having
Internet Explorer go to about:blank is a typical side effect of a
spyware program called CoolWebSearch. I recommend going to
http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html and
downloading CWShredder a freeware program which should take care of
your about:blank problem. In terms of the missing address bar the
previous comments tell you how to get it back. I would also recommend
downloading Spybot Search and Destroy from www.spybot.de. Using this
program frequently will greatly reduce the amount of spyware you get.

Hope this helps

A while ago I had some problem with IE (I cant remember exactly). I
could not load any websites but I had internet. What I did was I went
into "My Computer" and typed www.google.com into the address bar where
"My Computer" is. This will change into IE and you should get the
address bar back.

Also, you should use Mozilla Firefox instead of IE. It has an insane
pop-up blocker and you can download all of these extensions from their
website which make Firefox even better!

I know you didnt ask for my opinion on what browser you should use,
but thats my opinion.

-------

If the problem is spyware then you need some anti-spyware programs.
Like maxmouse-ga I recomend you get: Spybot Search and Destroy,
Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster, and you should also get a freetrial of some
anti-virus software to see if you have any other problems. I recomend
ZoneAlarm and Norton. Just download the free trials and then scan
away!

For your missing IE browser bar Right click empty space were your
browser bar should be and the second option they guve you should say
Address Bar. Click On It. And for about blank problems exit out and a
error box should come up. When it does it will be about your computer
not responding to IE click Send Error Report. Sometimes it will just
say Send or something related to the first one (Send Error Report)
