I'm looking for a book that a friend told me about, so I don't have
much information to go on. I believe it is a childrens book about
some dolls. One of the dolls is considered flawed by the other dolls,
and the other dolls put spots on her until she is covered with them.
She goes to the "dollmaker" to find out why they are treating her this
way, or why they are putting spots on her. The "dollmaker" is really
God. I don't know the ending of the story, but I think the moral has
something to do with accepting yourself or others. My friend heard
this story at church (probably Catholic). I would like to know the
title and where I can get a copy of the book.

Over the years there have been many parables involving dolls and
dollmakers. Can you tell us what is meant by "the other dolls put
spots on her"? Did the other dolls injure the flawed doll, or mark
her? Any clue might help narrow this down.

Yeah! I got more info. Apparently, it is a boy doll that is getting
the spots. When the other dolls perceive hime to have a flaw, like
being lazy, they put spots on him. Similar to stickers I think, but
he can't take them off. He meets a girl doll with no spots and asks
her why she doesn't have any. She said the maker took them off of
her. So he goes to the maker and they talk and the spots fall off.
Hope this helps. I would like to give it as a Christmas gift.
