For x-mas, I would like to buy a special kind of necklace or bracelet
that has a symbol of or actual crow. I've looked up some jewelry that
has a crow as a necklace component, but most are tacky. I want to
spend about +/-$100 on a good one that is not tacky (either bracelet
or necklace, but prefer necklace).
The recipient feels that the crow symbolizes a special person (who has
passed away) and thus I would like the piece of jewelry to be elegent
and have the ability to be worn frequently.
Any links to sites or known places that sell this kind of jewelry (SF
Bay Area, California area if stores are open) would be appreciated.
Thank you. :)

I know you have asked for a crow, but a Raven is a very symbolic bird
in Alaska native art. Do you think something like this would do, or
MUST it be a crow?

Indeed, whether it be a midnight dreary or festive, this wonderful

Any of these earings could be taken off to put on an elegant chain,
but they may be a bit on the cheaper side:

In case you want to consider a Raven as close enough to a crow....

What's the difference between crows and ravens?
http://www.ascaronline.org/crowfaq.html

"Ravens are about 1/3 larger than crows. They have somewhat heavier
bills, more fan-shaped tails, sometimes they have a ruff (mane) of
feathers around the throat. But essentially, crows and ravens are
identical in color, shape - and most importantly - behavior.
Crows and ravens are competitors, and both species are seldom found in
the same locale. Ravens are most often found in heavily wooded,
mountainous, cold, or desert regions. Crows may be spotted in more
temperate, mixed habitat areas."

"Northern ravens (those of Arizona) are transglobal, and found around
the world. There are 42 species of crows and ravens (corvidae) found
in all parts of the world from the arctic to the tropics, excepting
(for reasons known only to God) South America."

"Most of them are very similar, predominantly black birds. The
American crow is typical, and found throughout the United States,
except Hawaii. Other US species include the fish crow (a bit smaller
than the common crow) found mostly in southeastern coastal and
riparian regions; the Pacific Northwest crows are much like the
American crow, and, in fact, may be (according to one's favorite
taxonomist) only a subspecies."

I hope one of these choices is worth it as a special gift!

The recipient and myself actaully had an argument concerning the
difference between crows and ravens a couple of motnhs ago...she won.
She would definitely want it to be a crow.
I really like the earrings from animaltotem.com, which I can leave or
make a necklace/bracelet out of. :)
If no more research is supplied I think I will go with those.
Thanks!!
