i have started collecting 'older' paperbacks. they often have slight marks on them, but also a kind of 'sticky' feel. maybe humidity, hand oils, general dust over the years. anyhow, how to 1) get the sticky off w/o losing the cover inks and patina, plain water doesnt work well, still a residue. 2) source for ideas on how to remove other marks, scuffs, store labels, etc. thanks. jim |

I worked for several years in a used book store. My recommendations for cleaning the covers of paperback books is to use disposable cleaning wipes that are designed for cleaning vinyl LP records or CDs. |
