As a British person, how can I become a 'manxman' and gain residency
of the Isle of Man in order to benefit from tax free status whilst at
the same time working mostly in England?

I have recently been informed that their is a way to register as a
Manxman but work in England without being liable to UK tax. I live on
a boat and only sail to England when working there. I understand that
gaining the information to do so is fairly difficult though which is
why I have tried out this Goggle service.

You can't. Tax Status is largely determined by where you live and work.

Well, even if there is a way, it would be illegal, wouldn't it? Google
Answers does not provide information regarding illegal practices.

Hustler,

Of course, this is not legal or professional advice, as you can read
on the disclaimer below.
You may be able to it if you can gain residency on the Isle of Man.
Presumably, this would be possible by having your boat registered
there and securing a work permit. Perhaps you need to establish an
onshore address. The other question is how long then you would be
with your boat in England and whether this counts as being resident in
England. I expect that this could also relate to your type of work
and how you are paid.
Maybe these sites can give you some useful information:

Good luck, Myoarin
