I am trying to find an article in the Vernon County Censor during the years of 1940 or 1941. It was about a man named Otto Haugrud who was struck by lightning and died a few days later. He lived in the Avalanche,WI area. He was struck on July 25, I'm not sure which year. | |

According to the Worldcat database the only two libraries that own the
Vernon County Censor are:
The Lacrosse Public Library:
http://lplcat.lacrosse.lib.wi.us/
Wisconsin Historical Society/Newspaper Project:
http://www.shsw.wisc.edu/
Hope this helps. |

SEPT. 3, 2002 DEAR TAMME: Please explain exactly what you need and why you need it--do you need an exact copy of this article so you can find out more information about how this man died and the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, or are you trying to find currently surviving members of his family? The VERNON COUNTY CENSOR is a journal/type historical records newspaper that covers activities from the 1880's to the 1960's so there is a good chance you might be able to find an exact copy of the article, but if you were looking for members of his family, a local genealogist in that area can help you. Go to the website www.rootsweb.com, click on the "MESSAGE BOARDS" section, enter "Vernon County" in the "FIND A MESSAGE BOARD" box, and link #4 will show WISCONSIN--COUNTIES--VERNON. Post your search message about Mr. Haugrud there and someone can help you find out more information about him and his family, possibly in other sources that aren't limited to just the VERNON COUNTY CENSOR. SINCERELY, 4keith-ga |
