What two (freely available or trial version) Windows applications
cause a System Registry or DLL/COM/OCX version conflict, when
installed on the same machine. The applications must run when
installed stand alone, but fail when installed together. I need to
demonstrate a product which solves this type of problem using VMWare,
so the applications should not require any exotic hardware, should not
conflict at the driver level, and the conflict should be easy to demonstrate.

Which version(s) of Windows?

I found that the Exploit Submission Wizard has a conflict
arising from OC25.DLL in Windows 95, when used in conjunction
with "Vshield or other high interrupt usage software, for
example Compaq power management utilities or Ram Boost.":

If they really mean Ram Boost, it's here:

The more well-known Rambooster is here:

I am looking for an instance for Windows XP or Windows 2000, since I
can set these up readily. I don't have 95/98 install discs.

Maybe this will help:

"I have noticed this crashing problem when people have "Visual Basic
6" installed, with Service Pack 6. There is an OCX Conflict between
IceChat, which causes these crashes. It is with mswinsck.ocx, the
winsock control, which has a few problems in the sp6 version."

Do you need both applications to fail, or at least one?

Good luck with your quest!
