I have a Christmas party to attend on December 16th, and I'm trying to
buy a stereotypical light up Christmas sweater to wear to it. I was
thinking something like a large Christmas tree that has annoying
little LEDs all over it. I've been scouring the net for one, and all I
find are dog sweaters. Any ideas? Like I said, I would need it to be
delivered by the 16th.

Thanks.

Make your own out - buy a cheap set of battery-powered LED christmas
lights and poke them through a kitsch jumper from a charity shop - a
christmassy one if you can find it.

I thought of making a project out of it, but unfortunately I am quite
strapped for time right now, which is why I am looking to purchase one
pre-made.

I haven't seen a light up sweater, but Dave Barry picked some goony
Christmas presents in a column the other day and maybe this could work
for you:

SCROLLING LED BELT BUCKLE

$29.99 plus shipping and handling from Brain Buster Enterprises LLC,
349 Broadway, 9th floor, New York, NY 10013; available online only at
www.scrollingbuckle.com .

You could program a custom holiday greeting and change the message
periodically throughout the
evening.

P.S. Just found something else. . . .an LED Santa hat. . . you're
right, all the sweaters seem to be for dogs. But if a hat will do,
here's a link:

I've found those things too, but the gag is that it's an annoying sweater.

Still looking.

They definitely exist, I have two of them. One is a Christmas Tree
that lights up and it also plays music, can't remember the song. The
second one is for New Year's, same thing, lights and music. When I get
home, I'll look at the tags and see if I can track them down.

The Christmas tree one sounds perfect. I just need whoever makes it to
be able to get it to me by this Friday, or have a place in the Orange
County CA area where I can pick it up.

Thanks. I await your findings.

There are two tags, --same company and tags on both garmets.

Look at the very bottom, sheesh, if folks can't tell that dry
cleaning, cleaning of ANY kind would harm a lighted garmet (mine also
plays music), then they are ah...never mind.

Needless to say I have had these sweaters a Very Long Time. The tag
says 1989! I have never washed or dry cleaned them. I wear them once a
year each, and am very careful. Then, I hang them outside to freshen
them up and store them in plastic zipper cases. They still look brand
new!

Unfortunately, it looks like you're out of luck --as far as my helping
is concerned. It looks like they declared Bankruptcy sometime in the
1990's.

So sorry.

I don't know, Cynthia, this puts you in an entirely new light. And I
had been thinking that you wear tweeds and cardigans, maybe even
gloves on Sunday, but not lit-up, musical sweaters for Christmas and
New Year! But maybe I was confusing Victoria and Seattle ...
Congratulations on having a good day here. :)
No need to reply, Myoarin
