The GVX, Yugo's top-of-the-line trim (which is sort of like saying "a fine British wine"), was equipped with a 1.2 litre inline four cylinder gasoline engine that generated a pin-you-to-your-seat 64 horses. It was NOT offered as a turbo. Adding a turbocharger or supercharger is a relatively simple matter for an experienced mechanic. I've seen it done to an MG Midget 1250 and two Triumph Spitfire 1500s that put out about as much horsepower as the Yugo only in their dreams. I would expect serious cylinder wall washdown from it. |
