How many intelligence analysts are employed by the US government, to include Defense, CDC, etc, and can you tell me the estimated number by agency? An analyst is someone who conducts research and/or analysis on existing data collected by the government or that which is publicly available. This is for a market sizing. Thanks. |

http://www.opm.gov/feddata provides this info. Intelligence Analysts are category gs-0132 and in Sept 2001 there were 5777 federal employees in this category. Make sure when requesting info to specify to use static files since otherwise FBI analysts won't be included. There are about 200 current job openings for intelligence analysts |
