Well, This geeks.com article may help you.

I'm sure that site would be similar, but you have a problem here.
These sites ALWAYS require you to do a few things...
A) Sign up for several services which require credit cards. Thats not
a good thing, because if your not very careful you can be charged
payments. Sort of like those computer scams on tv, where you get a few
free CD's for a computer help service, but you have to send one in, or
even worse, they send you one more than what is free, and that has an
outrageous price
B) Make several of your FRIENDS sign up: Your friends won't always
appreciate getting spam from you, and most forums do NOT allow
postings asking to sign up for this service. Not only do you friends
have to sign up, but they have to sign up just as you did, with their
credit cards!
C) Give out emails... Yes, these companies send out MASSIVE amounts of
spam, not only to you, but to your friends! Do you really want to have
all your friends, and you get massive amounts of spam for a free ipod?
All in all, its not worth it. With the potential credit card charges,
and your friends (or whoever requite) being angry at you, along with
destroying a email address you may as well just buy the ipod. |
