My Nextel Blacberry 7510 is wirelessly linked to a microsoft Exchange
Server v3.6. When searching the BB address book for an address, it
pulls from the Outlook Contacts. If no names are found, the Lookup
feature pulls from the Outlook Global Address List osted on the server
and maintained by the systems admin.

Is there a way to have the Lookup feature draw from another Address List?

How can I replace the Global Address Book

Hi,

I'm completely unfamiliar with Blackberrys, and hence can't be a great
help, but the following article contains information on how to
accomplish a similar task:

= Article follows ===============

First create a .pst file and export GAL contacts

   1. Create a new .pst file (Personal folder) on the computer.
   2. Create a contacts database in the .pst file.
   3. Export the contents of the GAL to the .pst file.

Note: For help with the steps in task one, please contact your system
administrator or search for instructions on the Microsoft Help and
Support web site.

Then Map the folder for synchronization with Intellisync

   1. Connect the handheld to the computer.
   2. Open Desktop Manager and enter your password if prompted.
   3. Double-click Intellisync.
   4. Click Configure PIM.
   5. Select address book and click Choose.
   6. In the Choose Translator window, click Browse.
   7. In the Choose Address Book Folders window, expand the .pst
folder which contains the GAL contacts.
   8. Select Contacts and click Add.
   9. Click OK to close each of the open windows. After you
synchronize the personal information management (PIM), the GAL
contacts will be available from the handheld address book.

This could therefore most likely be adapted to suit your needs. For exmaple:

Create a personal folder (.pst) in Outlook, and create a contacts
database in that file, as stated above. However, instead of importing
the Global Address List, import/input your desired contacts.

The second section of the above article referring to the use of
Intellisync should then work, theoretically.

I don't know whether you recieved the Intellisync software with your
Blackberry though. If you do have the software though, you could give
the above a shot.

It MIGHT work...:D
