Any suggestions besides installing a DVD player. Also I have uninstalled Media player and reinstalled it and gotten all the updates. |

Are you trying to play a copied back-up CD? Some programs won't recognize copied CDs or DVDs as a copyright protection measure. Given Microsoft's stance on intellectual property and copyright protection, I can see this easy. If the DVD is an original copy it sounds like it might be a bug. Which are you using? |

hey, I have two solutions for you : 1. Try another player called VLC. you can find it here : http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ if it doesnt work then : 2. you may need a codec pack, which you can find it here : http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm the newer version of codec pack you choose - the better, since of codec's update. You can try this direct link of k-lite codec pack 2.65 full here : http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=1226&s=95 good luck :) |
