What tools on Linux, Mac, or Windows are great for rapidly creating high-enough resolution screenshots for printing in a book and also lower resolution for fast loading on web pages. I also want a tool that can easily resize, sharpen, annotate, and include a border around an image. We are developing a website and a book that contain lots of screen shots. I've been creating screen shots with TechSmith's SnagIt and resized and sharpened them with IrfanView. Nancy Author of Google Guide, www.googleguide.com |

Under linux you can use xv for getting the screen shots, then use the gimp for doing sharpening and bordering. |

Well I always use Adobe Photoshop 7 for that sort of thing. Resolution is easy to adjust when saving. Plus there are alot of other features that ALL help in one way or another :) Hope that helped. |
