Where or how to purchase an old blugrass song called "The night after
Christmas"--- Not the new song by Jeff Foxsworthy
Some lyrics include: 'Twas the night after Christmas and all through
the house-not a creature was sturing cause somebody had stole all the
spoons.
The baggy Christmas stockings were lying on the floor the empty
Christmas wrappings looked like ther'd been a war.
The children wern't nestled nor snug in there beds- they went a
bellywooping down the stairs in their sled
Ma tried on her Christmas hat it looked just like a weed
Pa found out how much it cost and turned all red and green
the Christmas tree was lit-up and so was Uncle Cy- he thought he was a
reindeer and insisted he could fly
He hollerd out "hey Dixon why don't you wait fer me?" then landed
right smack in the middle of the Chrismas tree

Hello,

I believe the version of the song The night after Christmas you recall
 is by Homer and Jethro.

From Stumpers list:

?We have a patron looking for the words to the song, The night after
Christmas by Homer and Jethro. The song starts out, "The baggy
Christmas stockings were lying on the floor; empty Christmas wrappings
looking like a war.?

?Homer and Jethro did another fave, "The Night After Christmas" some
years earlier on an RCA 45, it's about the house being a wreck and
everybody being messed up on the day after Xmas.?

Super! you found it and I will do whats needed to "award" you.
This is the first time I have tried this.
The one thing I was hoping for is to find this in a CD or MP3 because
I do not have a way to play or digitize "Vinyl"

Hi Rdavescott,

I'm glad I found the correct song for you.

Unfortunatley I didn't come across a CD or mp3 copy of this song. If
I do I will post the information here.

An alternative is to use a service that transfer LPs to CDs OR MP3s.

Take a look at some services I posted in a previous answer.

I hope this helps!
